Dr. Punyavathi Nagaraj’s service as a Laparoscopic Surgeon extends far beyond the clinic walls, into the heart of the community she serves. She has spent countless hours volunteering at local health fairs, providing free medical care to those who cannot afford it, and working tirelessly to raise awareness about public health issues.
With a purposeful 23 years of commitment to her profession, she has successfully carried out 18000+ surgeries that have helped in nurturing the vulnerable, and lending medical concern to those in need. Despite the constant demands on her time and the endless challenges she faced, Dr. Punyavathi Nagaraj made her sense of purpose better by always striving to make a positive impact on the lives of those she encounters.

Many cancer awareness programs especially for women were organized by the Naipunya foundation to make India a healthier and safer place. Dr. Punyavathi Nagaraj studied MBBS at Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences, Bengaluru. She also pursued a Master's Degree in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, (Rajiv Gandhi University, Bengaluru)
Dr. Punyavathi Nagaraj’s passion for medicine led her to the Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery from The World Laparoscopy Hospital, Delhi.
She also holds her Diploma in Laparoscopic Surgery from one of the Professional Membershipsworld’s most prestigious “Universities of Kiel in Germany”

Her journey in the medical field contributes to :
● Dr Punyavathi was instrumental in establishing the first of its kind Laparoscopic surgical center in Somalia by personally visiting the country’s biggest medical centre. She managed to screen over 1000 patients and demonstrate over 50 surgeries in a span of 10 days.
● She successfully managed various High Risks complicated obstetric patients like PIH, GDM, Pregnancy with uterine anomalies, Pregnancy with multiple fibroids, Ectopic Pregnancy, Laparoscopic Hysterectomy for various indications, Hysteroscopic procedures and Laparoscopic Myomectomy (Removal of Fibroid) being her special interest.
● Dr.Punyavathi Nagaraj has performed 3500+ Laparoscopic Hysterectomies (TLH) and 800+ Myomectomies in both nulliparous and parous women.
● She has performed 18,000+ Laparoscopic surgeries in her career of 23 years and has successfully handled innumerable emergency cases.
● She has conducted various free health camps and health awareness programs like Cancers in Women especially cervical cancer, and breast cancer, general gynecological camps, Awareness about breastfeeding and hygiene of nursing mothers, New-born care programs etc.

● Dr. Punyavathi is bound by her ethics to contribute to society. She has performed 100+ Laparoscopic surgeries free of cost for those who are in need.
● Dr. Punyavathi initiated and led free laparoscopic surgery in Somalia, and successfully handled 50 surgeries and screening of 1000+ patients.
● Dr. Punyavathi recognized the need for health awareness in rural areas and has reached out to 100+ rural areas by conducting health awareness programs
● During the period of COVID in the year 2020-21 Dr. Punyavathi C Nagaraj managed Covid patients extremely safely and judiciously with very minimal financial discomfort for the common public.
● Statistically, PUNYA Hospital witnessed the least casualties during COVID-19 compared to all other similar institutes in Karnataka.
● A combined total of over 2000 Covid infected patients were managed safely. Out of which nearly a thousand patients were allotted by the BBMP. Hundreds of people were vaccinated and investigated in association with the Government of Karnataka as well as the Government of India.
